Waste

In all cases waste must be managed by you the client, that as a garden service we have created. This can be as simple as going straight into your green waste bin or waste being left neatly in sacks of various sizes for you to have collected or placed in a skip. We do not hold a waste transfer licence or remove waste of any kind as this would increase costs dramatically. Before booking think about how much waste will be created and where you would like it placing on your property.

Quotes and pricing

At present the hourly rate stands at £25 per hour. This may increase as costs rise as this is considered a low charge for the work we carry out, but all clients will be notified well in advance should prices have to increase in the future. There are select jobs which a lot of companies would charge £100-£200 for that can be covered in maybe 2 or 3 hours. This means that a lot of work and effort has gone into a task with relatively little profit. Coupled with fuel and wear and tear on machinery there are therefore some jobs which will be quoted for separately regardless of how long they take. As you the client are paying for the overall completed task. Therefore, for general gardening work expect to pay £25 per hour and for larger tasks or clearance work consider that the job may have to be quoted for at a completed task rate. In all cases prices will be quoted upfront so there are no surprises. Where materials are purchased in for tasks such as plants, soil, paints etc the client will be responsible for these costs and receive a receipt to cover in addition to the labour charge. Again, in all cases the costs will be discussed prior to any works being carried out. A receipt will be given to all clients for any work done and payment can be made via bank transfer or cash on the day. We will always aim to work with any client’s budget and never leave you with a large bill you weren’t expecting. Your garden and property are an investment to you and to us. And the slightest improvements can not only add value but also add value in terms of your enjoyment of the living space. Quotations are free of charge, including call outs to view property.

At present we operate as a one-man band, you can expect reliability and good communication, you can also expect care and attention and respect to your garden and surrounding property. Quotes given are based on this style of work and what you will invest in for your money within your garden space. Our aim is to under promise and overdeliver and keep clients feeling happy and glad that they booked us. As last season was a busy time there is the possibility that working as a one-man band may change. However, the quality of workmanship and attention to detail will always remain the same. Grass cutting as a service can be weather dependant and become extremely busy at times. We ask that all clients appreciate this and understand that working on your grass in the wet can cause a lot of damage and present a hazard for us.

Client Requirements

In some circumstances the work we carry out is very noise generating, coupled with this sometimes boundaries of properties can have disputes or un-certainty to them. It is crucial to ensure our workload runs smooth that you have informed any neighbours of works carried out if you believe there falls the possibility for dispute. And where ownership is declared for certain boundary line plant matter that  you also take full responsibility for ordering works carried out and declare full ownership and permission to order such works. Plant matter rooting from neighbouring property making it's way into your garden is the property of your neighbour.

In regard to pets and children our work is not a safe environment for anyone except ourselves. So arrangements should be prior made to ensure the safety and wellbeing of others. In addition to this in no circumstances will we clear pet excrement or tolerate it being within our work environment. Not only is this a health and safety issue for us but it also ruins equipment that has been heavily invested in. Your garden is our workplace for the time that you book our service!

Clients ordering works to be carried out also confirm and agree by booking that they are the homeowner or have permission to order such works.

Communication:

Communication is a vital part of our transaction, should you grant us free reign over tidying a border area and forget you had plants of sentimental value that you hadn't told us about, this would be no good for anybody if we decided they would be better out. We aim to clearly discuss your requirements in full detail to establish exactly what you want from our services.

Speciality:

Information of a technical nature regarding soil types, plant types, identifications and so on is something that can be researched on your behalf, there are thousands of different species and types of plants, shrubs, flowers, herbs and there isn't anyone alive who can identify them all, some have yet to even be discovered! Plants and species have different pruning times and groups but in cases where overgrowth is causing a nuisance we will go with the clients requests to cut back. There is always a risk of disease and death, and the client should be aware of this when ordering works. All tools and equipment are sterilised regularly using isoprolol alcohol to avoid contamination.  There are countless ways to conduct gardening and plant care and there isn't a one size fits all. Generally speaking, we specialise purely in cuts, trims and clearance to get your garden looking it's best again.

Generally, we also do not do any sort of landscape or flagging type work either. But in a lot of cases clients may need an area clearing of overgrowth to then hire another team in to do the ground works. As a lot of gardens in the local area are prone to flooding, it is also worth noting that this is something we are in no way qualified to deal with. And will require you the client to enquire with an expert in drainage. Light landscape work such as weed control fabric and ground appearance improvement can be carried out along with gardening but with drainage issues even these simple tasks can make problems worse and therefore should be dealt with first. Another major task can be leaves and not clearing leaves can lead to a mass build up, but clients should be aware that as we are clearing the leaves they are still falling and until the last one has dropped the garden will look a little untidy!

At this time, we also do not carry out tree works or chainsaw operation of any sort. This is a separate trade involving tree surgeon qualifications. Minor pruning and so on would not fall into this category for shrubs and plants but even large tree pruning can create imbalance or generate risk to health and safety for anyone not qualified to carry out such works.

Large over-grown clearance work and tidying gardens which owners cannot attend to themselves from very small to very large lawn areas is where most of our work is carried out.

There are many clients who feel ashamed they cannot attend to their gardens properly or have fallen behind with them for many different reasons and you should know that those circumstances happen to everybody at some point from busy lives to disability to simply moving house and we are here to help.
